Digital Platforms represent a key extension of broadcast coverage, enabling Media Partners to reach younger, mobile-first audiences through platform-native formats and platform-native formats and high-frequency content publishing.

The Digital Media Interface (DMI) enables Media Partners to seamlessly access and publish non-live and near-live content across approved digital platforms, aligned with their preferred distribution channels.

It provides ready-to-use content formats designed specifically for social media consumption, including vertical assets (9:16), short-form clips and real-time highlights.

Content is delivered in digital-first formats, enabling Media Partners to engage audiences consuming content primarily on mobile and social platforms.

Beyond this, a wide range of additional content is made available, including:

  • Digital First (near-live key match moments)
  • Short-form match clips
  • Vertical promos
  • Infographics and editorial assets

Live content distribution is handled separately through Digital Content Live (DCL), which enables the publication of live feeds on preferred and approved platforms.

FIFA also operates an Official Creators Programme, giving selected creators exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the competition, generating authentic and engaging content tailored for digital audiences.

This combination of digital-first content, editorial assets and creator-driven storytelling enables Media Partners to expand their reach, increase engagement and deliver platform-native experiences.

Datatainment

Datatainment is a new and innovative digital service introduced for the FIFA World Cup 2026™. It enhances the live match experience by combining video with real-time tracking data, such as player speed, shot speed, ball trajectory or real-time player positioning and movement, directly integrated into the match feed.

Through dynamic graphical overlays, Datatainment transforms raw data into visual storytelling, helping fans better understand the action on the pitch in a more engaging and intuitive way.

Designed with an entertainment-first approach, Datatainment brings additional context to the game, making it more accessible to casual viewers while enriching the experience for more engaged fans.

It also creates new opportunities for Media Partners to differentiate their coverage and integrate branded or sponsored elements, in line with FIFA monetization guidelines.

For Media Partners looking for more flexibility, FIFA also provides access to official match data through the Data Portal, enabling the creation of custom editorial content and analysis on their own platforms.

XR Experience Application

The XR Experience introduces a new way to consume football through an immersive mixed-reality environment, developed for Meta Quest headsets.

Within this interactive space, users can watch matches on a giant virtual screen while simultaneously accessing a 3D mini-pitch populated with real-time player and ball tracking, enriched with official FIFA data.

Media Partners can make their rights-holding matches available within the application, enabling their live coverage to be experienced directly in the XR environment.

A selection of matches may be enhanced through immersive capture, using dedicated cameras positioned behind the goals and in the main stand, offering a more engaging perspective of the action.

The experience combines live and replay content, real-time data visualization and interactive elements. It also includes on-demand VOD and 360° non-live content, accessible within the same immersive environment.

The experience can be monetized by Media Partners through the integration of branding and commercial elements, in line with FIFA monetization guidelines.

XR Experience – Companion SDK (Web & App)

The XR Experience SDK Companion enables Media Partners to bring interactive, data-driven match experiences directly into their own digital platforms, across web and mobile.

Through the integration of a 3D mini-pitch powered by real-time tracking data, users can explore the match from different perspectives, follow players and access contextual insights alongside the live broadcast.

  • The SDK provides a flexible and ready-to-integrate framework, allowing Media Partners to:

  • Synchronise the experience with their own commentary
  • Select between different viewing modes, such as broadcast view, data view, player focused or POV perspectives.
